OUR PHILOSOPHY
Comfort keeps people stuck. Structure helps them move.
We believe that when a person is given a real opportunity, with structure and support, he is far more likely to take it than to stay where things are merely comfortable.
Without structure, it is easy to choose what feels comfortable instead of what is right. This home was built to remove obstacles, provide accountability, and help men build a stable new life, one day at a time.
“Given a real opportunity with structure and support, a person is far more likely to take it than to stay in his comfort zone.”
That means clear expectations, steady routines, honest peer support, and practical help getting to work so progress isn’t left to willpower alone.

Dedicated to Derek L. Linthicum
Linthicum Sober Home is dedicated to the memory of Derek Linthicum, who lost his life to a fentanyl overdose.
His name is on this home for a reason: to give men who are still struggling a safe place to start again, and to help protect theirs through his story.
Every new beginning here carries his name forward.

WHAT WE OFFER
A safe home, clear rules, and steady support
Everything here is designed to be simple and fair, so residents know what’s expected, what’s provided, and how to move forward.

Drug- & alcohol-free home
A safe, sober living environment for men in recovery, with clear house rules that protect everyone in the house.

Small & close-knit
Just 7 residents, with a live-in house mentor. Small enough to know each other and to notice when someone needs help.

Phases that reward progress
Simple, structured phases that reward responsibility and steady progress, step by step, at a fair pace.

Peer support & accountability
House accountability and peer support built into daily life, so no one is trying to do recovery alone.

Transportation for work
Round-trip rides for work, the bus stop, and job searches scheduled through the house mentor.

Safety first
Alarm system and monitoring in common areas only: hallways, kitchen, living room, and outdoors. Never in bedrooms or bathrooms.
